My name is Ms. Sledge and I am the 6th grade counselor. This is my 11th year at McClure and my 16th year as a school counselor. I received my Bachelors in Leisure Studies and recreation from Cal State Northridge and my teaching credential from San Francisco State University. During my tenure as an English teacher, I had a calling to work with students in a different capacity, and decided to go back for my Masters in Professional Counseling. I received my degree from Clark Atlanta University. I have always had a thirst for knowledge so I decided to further my education in the area of counseling and went back for my Educational specialist degree from Jacksonville State University in Alabama. I currently live with my dog Bella and my son who is currently attending Wingate University in North Carolina. I spend my free time catching up on my television shows, crafting with my side business, traveling with family to our favorite place, Hilton Head, or exploring new restaurants in the metro Atlanta area.
If you have any questions are concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email or by phone. I would love to help you and your family navigate through this crazy world called middle school.

My name is Ms. Gordon and I'm the school counselor for 8th grade only this year. This is my 12th year serving as school counselor and second year here at McClure Middle. However, my humble beginnings trace back to Statesboro, GA where I earned my Bachelors and Masters degree. While earning my Masters degree from Georgia Southern University (AKA, The real GSU), I began my career as a teacher first, so I have a plethora of experience working with various elementary grade levels. Ultimately, my goal is the same in any role and that's helping ALL students achieve success and become the best version of themselves. I'm ecstatic about this school year and can't wait to interact with your students. Kennesaw has been my home for many years along with my husband Vince, our youngest son (Carter) who attends Lewis Elementary and our oldest son and recent Mercer University graduate, (Jalyn).
When not at school, my favorite things are road tripping to sporting events to cheer on my boys, binge watching my favorite tv shows, and just enjoying life amongst family. I am passionate about supporting you and your family during one of the most pivotal stages of development so, please feel free to contact me via phone or email if you ever have any questions or concerns.
